Why is it that kindergarten students can transition between activities smoothly and quietly, yet the typical grade six class can barely manage it?! There are a ton of reasons (more modelling from the teacher, lack of puberty hormones) but one of the minor ones is music! However, if you tried the carpet song or the clean-up song with the upper elementary classes, they would just roll their eyes and groan... so are there any songs that work for them?
